My 17 year old son has swelling on one side of tongue since 2 years. At times the swelling is more and pains otherwise doesn't cause any problem. What could e bthe reason and the treatment. Please advice

Evaluation by your family doctor is necessary to find out the root cause. Some of the causes are: deficiency of vitamin B3, pernicious anemia, allergic reaction, due to certain disease like hypothyroidism etc.
