And to keep you mind function properly, they need to eat properly and sleep properly. Only a healthy body will bear a healthy mind. And a healthy mind is the most vital requirement to meet your goal of scoring great marks.

Here's how you can maintain a healthy body during exams:

Eat smart: Eat nutritious food which provides ample energy, stamina, and much-needed vitamins and minerals for better concentration and hard work. Add food rich in iron and vitamins for maintaining the mental and physical energy level. Cereals and spinach are iron powerhouses. For vitamins, grab your hands on whole grains, wheat germ, eggs and nuts. If you relish non-vegetarian food, eat fish and red meat. It will help in boosting your brain activity. Drink milk and fresh juices.

Take break to eat: Don't skip your meals in order to study. In fact, take small breaks, and keep munching at regular intervals.

Avoid eating heavy meals: Eating heavy meals twice or thrice a day will slow you down. It is better to consider 5-6 well balanced smaller meals.

Don't skip your breakfast: Skipping breakfast will hamper your concentration. Best breakfast options can be a bowl of cereal with milk and any one fruit.

Eating fruits will be fruitful: Fruits are the best snacks for your brain. Eating bananas and blueberries would be great as they are full of antioxidants and micronutrients.

Opt for vegetables: Consume light vegetables such as a bottle gourd, carrots or methi.

Stay adequately hydrated: Keep a water bottle on your study table and sip frequently. Limit the intake of coffee or tea. If you relish having tea, then try herbal tea.

Sleep well: Make sure that you sleep well before the exam as it will prevent anxiety, depression and restlessness.

Take time to relax: Take a small break in between studies to relax the mind. Continue exercising if you already do it. Do not skip exercise for studying. Use techniques like deep breathing or yognidra. This will relieve stress, and compensate for short sleeping hours.
